Role purpose

We are seeking a highly capable and experienced Azure & Snowflake Data Engineer for a 12-month fixed term contract to join our Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) build project team. This role is suited to an experienced data engineer who thrives in a collaborative delivery environment, brings strong technical depth, and is passionate about building scalable, secure and high-quality data solutions that enable trusted business reporting, analytics and decision-making.

You will lead:

  • A greenfield and uplifted Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) build
  • Azure-first data platform using Azure (ADF/ ADLS), Snowflake and Power BI
  • End-to-end ownership from ingestion to curated analytics layers
  • Close collaboration with architects, BI and governance teams


Core Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end design and delivery of Azure - and Snowflake - based data pipelines across the enterprise data platform.
  • Build and maintain Lakehouse and warehouse solutions using best-fit modelling approaches (Kimball, Inmon, Data Vault, Medallion) to support analytics and reporting.
  • Translate business reporting and analytics needs into scalable, maintainable data integration and modelling solutions.
  • Assess source systems, data quality, privacy and governance requirements to design fit-for-purpose data pipelines.
  • Implement robust data quality and reconciliation controls, including validation, exception handling and timeliness monitoring.
  • Embed security and privacy-by-design across data solutions, including encryption, access controls, masking and compliant handling of sensitive data.
  • Resolve data engineering issues, risks and delivery blockers, providing clear remediation and escalation where needed.
  • Deliver in Agile and Azure DevOps environments, collaborating across critical stakeholders to achieve integrated data outcomes.


You will bring

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Australia in data engineering, data integration, or similar roles within medium / large enterprise.
  • Solid experience hands-on with validated build and implementation of EDW, data lakes (EDL) and warehousing with Azure Integration Services (full stack), Snowflake and MS Power BI
  • Solid experience designing and implementing data architecture and modelling approaches like Inmon, Kimball, Data Vault within the Australian market.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering comprehensive data solutions (data governance, modelling, ETL/ELT processes, Master Data Management and BI).
  • Demonstrated experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies and environments (Azure DevOps, CI/CD, version control, APIs, Containers and Microservices and Data pipeline orchestration, Wiki, Confluence or equivalent collaboration and documentation tools.
  • Demonstrated experience assessing source systems, data quality, privacy and governance (DAMA-DMBOK-aligned practices design fit-for-purpose data pipelines).
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and ability to solve complex problems working collaboratively with various stakeholders to deliver impact.
  • Work autonomously with initiative, and resilience in fast-paced environment.
  • Full working rights in Australia.
  • Eligible and required to undertake a "Fit2Work" National Criminal History Check.
  • Hold or willing to obtain a Blue Card and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
